Nineteen's 2013-2014 concert season concludes with a bang with bandleader, composer, and drummer extraordinaire Wally ("it rhymes") Schnalle. An important force in the northern California jazz scene, he's performed at the Monterey Jazz Festival, Yoshi's, SFJazz, and leading venues throughout California. Schnalle is also an active teacher and an editor at Drum! magazine.
Wally's complex rhythmic style always grooves. Whether on straight-ahead jazz, funk, fusion, or any other genre, his playing makes listeners feel good!
Nineteen is an ensemble of local professional musicians with a 30 year tradition of playing the best in modern big band jazz. Visit www.nineteenjazz.com for more info and upcoming events, including monthly performances at the Blackbird Tavern in San Jose.
